The value of YOU!

Martha Olawale

For thus saith the Lord of hosts……… for he that touch you touch the apple of his eye.” Zechariah 2:8

The world is growing colder by the day and people are taking out their frustration on others. They project the dissatisfaction of who they are on people around them. Because they don’t know the value God places on them, they reduce the worth of people they meet to less than the value God places on them.

Knowing who God is and acknowledging His sovereignty over all things, clears our eyes of all the murkiness that limits our view of who we are and how God views us. Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” A rich man’s son lives conscious of his father’s wealth and approaches his needs considering what the dad can make possible.

David had a clear understanding of who God is, translating to his understanding of who he is in God. It was impossible for Goliath or even king Saul to reduce his worth because he was sure of the value God places on him. He declares the majesty of God and gives Him preeminence. He said in Psalm 139:14 “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well.”

When you begin to see yourself through God’s definition of you, a fire lights up in your mind that cannot be quenched by the grime and filthiness of anyone’s hate. No one can put a value on you or estimate the cost of all that God has purposed for you to be. You are bigger than the mind of any man or woman and your worth is extraordinary. You are God’s masterpiece, an unbreakable diamond with a price tag worth more than all the money in the world.

You occupy the most delicate side of God and anyone who touches you touches the apple of His eye. You are perfect and how God views you is all that counts. Stop selling yourself short of the giant God made you, allowing people to rearrange the chapters of your life and dictate the narrative of a story written by God. You are as rich, and flawless as the Lord made you and you are not a victim until you succumb to the lies you are being told.
