He that walks with the wise

“Walk with the wise and become wise.” Proverbs 13:20a
There is no such thing as common sense in our world anymore. Simple innate reasonings are now clouded and convoluted with human erroneous suppositions. To be wise, we must look through the lens through which God sees things and listen with ears tuned to the frequency of Heaven. Proverbs 2:6 says, “For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” It is anything but wise if it’s not from God or aligns with His precepts.
I started this Christian journey as a teen, and I’ve watched God keep growing me in all areas of my life. There’s no way I could have survived the battles and mazes I’ve had to walk through without Christ. As I study His Word, my eyes become clearer, and as I listen to His Word, the clogs in my ears are dissolved. He guides with grace and precision and leads His children lovingly through every season of life.
While we are born with God’s nature, our brokenness wrestles with defining right from wrong, but no matter how dark the valley is, God always finds a way to teach us through His Holy Spirit and surround us with the right people in different seasons. He leads us to the right messages at the right time and blesses us with the right friends who, through their hearts for God, pour wisdom into ours. I’ve been privileged to meet a few of them on different paths I’ve walked through; they are my life’s treasures. From years in Nigeria to the various seasons nearly two decades away from Nigeria, God puts me in specific circles to preserve His call over my life.
No one has life figured out, and we all need people to hold our hands when weary and remind us of what truly matters. I am neither an island nor self-sustained; I am active on the Kingdom field because I walk with the wise. I rub shoulders with friends far and near whose hearts beat toward Heaven and whose desire is to honor God. They are a different breed of warriors and fruit bearers on a desert land. Some of those relationships are decades old, with Christ still at the core. We are strategically positioned to stir each other to continue to say yes to God and take up our battle suits.
In proximity, an hour with the T. Circle is worth much more than a clock's tick. Something happens when we sit together to eat, laugh, and share. It’s a command center for encouraging and strengthing our resolve to take one more step toward God. The impact of three years together on the Kingdom outweighs human vaults and can only be measured on Heaven’s scale.
Wisdom is contextual and dynamic; you can’t hold it captive. It rains on you from hearts that pants after God. No human knows it all, and little drops of wisdom from godly friends make a giant out of your mind. Simply stated, it is wise to walk with the wise, not as defined by the world but by surrendered hearts to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. If you want to know the heart of God and find rest in a restless world, walk closely with the Holy Spirit. He’ll lead you to honor God and surround you with people who will spur you to godliness, encourage you to live accountable for Heaven’s mandate, and speak to the warrior in you.
