The Warrior in you
Martha Olawale
“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?... No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:31,37
Each morning I wake up to another heart-pricking news. The world is spinning in all directions, but God’s. There’s always something going on that calls me to raise my head to Heaven and lower my knees to the ground. Before the brokenness of yesterday is mended, I see another crack today, and my spirit breaks with it. My soul tells me God can fix these because He puts me here as an extension of Heaven, and as a Soldier of the cross, I fight until my last breath.
As Christians, do we get to cower in a corner, or do we join Heaven’s call to stand ready to go when Christ commands? We are infused with the blood of the Lamb and direct descendants of the Lion of Judah, and we should live our lives in a way that speaks to that identity. If I don’t do my part, I will deny the world the grace God has mercifully bestowed on me to show the world how much He loves them.
The Christian faith should separate us in a world where everyone has a victim status hanging on their identity. There is a Warrior in you, a Spirit ignited by the redemptive power of the Lord Jesus Christ. Although the battle rages on, “In all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
God is not fighting against humanity; He is fighting for humanity. There is a roar from Heaven, calling the soldiers of the Cross to raise their banner of righteousness and fight the good fight of faith. Change your stance and join the battle to lead the world around you to the foot of the cross. Dust off your horn, prepare to echo the call to salvation and fight for those who do not know how much God loves them. You are children of Zion and have Heaven’s backing; live like it.
