Treasured error
One of the most exciting things I experienced in 2024 was holding “A Million Miles with Jesus” and “Unconditionally Christ’s” in my hands. It’s one thing for God to promise and another for us to live to see it. We bought our family’s copies the day they were published, but they were hidden immediately because it’s one of the Christmas surprises for the kids. We want to see the look on their faces when they see Mum’s name on the cover of two books.
You can only imagine my shock when I took the books this morning and noticed the Spine of “Unconditionally Christ’s.” Publishing two books simultaneously came with many challenges, and I guess focusing on the cover and interior for months made us somehow miss the graphic designer’s error. The immediate response was to take the prints down, but if we take them down on AMAZON, the corrected cover will have to be another edition, which we don’t want, so we have to wait for the correction and re-upload them next week.
My shock at seeing the mistake was draining. I could only see errors in the sky until my husband said, “Those copies are treasures” because they carry authenticity and value. Most of the time, we only see clouds, but behind every cloud is the sky.
We will present the “Treasured error” copies to our kids on Christmas, have a good laugh, and teach them a thing or two from the experience. These copies and the story behind them would be passed on to our grandkids and the family lineage. If you’ve got your copies with the “Treasured error” before the cover is re-uploaded next week, keep it safe. Who knows? They might be worth a few dollars more in a hundred years. Merry Christmas!
